Music for Film

Let’s Talk Songs

At Abe Reid Music, we believe in creating meaningful experiences that inspire and connect audiences to moments in the American roots and blues past…

Having the right song to stream in your production can mean everything in setting the tone for the scene.

Whether your needs are for a new film, TV documentary or a sound track for a digitized vintage reel, you may find just what you need here.

While Abe has an extensive discography, we’ve chosen to showcase the audio tracks below that are definitely film-worthy and well worth their salt…

So have a listen, then get in touch and let’s discuss how we can be a source for authentic sound for your next film or commercial  project.

Scat Singing - The Legend

Legend has it that Louis Armstrong was in a 1926 recording session of the track "Heebies Jeebies," when he suddenly dropped his sheet music. Rather than stop, he began improvising the melody with nonsensical syllables to keep the recording going.

While earlier vocalists in blues and jazz may have toyed with scatting, it was he who popularized the style, making his voice an equal partner to the instrument. Check out this cool amateur video of Abe scat singing Sweet Georgia Brown.

Harmonica Blues - Nostalgic Sights

The stuff that the 1930’s and 40’s were made of…heavy metal automobiles and heavy harmonica blues.

Take a trip back in time with us in this video and check out how Abe’s nostalgic sound blends so well with the tone of this restored 1930’s-40’s film.
